Join our team as a Part-time Constituent Services Liaison to help residents in Gowanus, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, and Columbia Waterfront access the city services they need.

This role is 20 hours per week at $31.04/hour and includes options for comp time, comprehensive healthcare options (including dental and vision), a 401(k) and pension plan, commuter benefits, and generous paid time off.

• Join the NYC Comptroller’s Office and the Legal Aid Society for a Know Your Rights in the Workplace webinar on Tuesday, 5/6 from 4 PM to 5 PM. This webinar is geared towards business owners, workers, and their allies. Topics will include employers’ duties and workers’ rights under anti-discrimination law, wage and hour laws, leave laws, and a Q&A. Register here for Zoom details.

• On Saturday, 5/10, Brooklyn Conservatory of Music’s Open Stages Festival will fill the streets and stoops of Park Slope with free live music, from their home base at 58 7th Avenue down through 5th Avenue, which will be car-free for Open Streets! Meet the artists and explore the map and festival guide on their website.

• Help shape the future of our parks by testifying at the City Council Executive Budget Hearing for Parks on Monday, 5/13 at 12 PM, in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. You can also sign up to testify virtually, and you can tune into the livestream of the hearing.

• Cobble Hill: Drop off your e-waste on Sunday, 5/18, at Kane Street Synagogue (236 Kane Street, 11231). We accept working and non-working computers, monitors, printers, keyboards, mice, cables, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, phones, audio/visual equipment, and PDAs. For more information, check this link. This event is hosted by the Lower East Side Ecology Center, my office, and Kane Street Synagogue.

• The NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) is now accepting registrations from small business owners of all stages, industries, and boroughs to attend the 2025 NYC Small Business Month Expo on Thursday, 5/29, from 9 AM to 4 PM at Center415 (415 5th Avenue, 10016). New this year: Expo attendees can sign up for small group or one-on-one appointments for financing, legal, M/WBE certification, winning government contracts, and more!

• New York City is creating its first Urban Forest Plan to guide the management and expansion of the urban forest, which includes all trees on public and private land. Share your ideas and questions to help shape the plan by joining a Community Kick-Off Session or filling out the Urban Forest Plan Questionnaire.

• Join your Community Education Councils (CECs), representing Pre-K to 8th-grade students in NYC Public Schools. CECs consist of volunteer parents and community leaders focused on enhancing student achievement in local district schools. Apply to be a Borough President appointee on the CEC here.
