Dear John,
April was a banner month for health freedom and children’s health.
The issues we’ve fought so long and hard for are finally taking center stage — in Washington, D.C. and in the media.
There’s the autism study. Ridding kids’ food of cancer-causing dyes. Talk of getting COVID shots off the CDC’s childhood schedule. Utah’s ban on water fluoridation. Idaho’s ban on medical mandates.
It looks like progress to us. But to those who profit from the childhood disease epidemic, it sounds like a death knell.
Bobby’s statements about autism and his plan to address it triggered a torrent of attacks.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren tweeted that Secretary Kennedy’s “lies about autism” were “disgusting and dangerous.”
Rosie O’Donnell went on CNN to demand Bobby resign or be fired.
Vaccine profiteer Peter Hotez arrogantly told Time: “People like myself have spent hours trying to tutor him on all this, and he just doesn’t listen.”
To all the attackers, we say, bring it on. We’re thrilled that the autism debate has finally gone mainstream. We’re not only ready for it — we’ve been preparing and pushing for it for decades.
But we know there’s still more to be done. In the coming weeks and months, you can count on CHD to pull out all the stops, using all of our legal, science, media, and advocacy tools to keep autism and other critical children’s health issues on the public’s radar.
We may never have another opportunity like this to win over the hearts and minds of millions more people and enlist them in the fight to end the childhood chronic disease epidemic.
Please help us finish the job we started long ago by making a generous donation to our spring $1 Million Match campaign.
Thank you,
