This is what justice looks like under Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales, who has made it his mission to punish police officers and appease radical activists, no matter the truth.
The truth is this:
On June 23, 2023, Officer Flores was called to help subdue a violent suspect suffering from a schizophrenic episode. The woman had assaulted officers, barricaded herself in a home, and refused to surrender after over 20 minutes of attempted negotiations.
Inside that same apartment was an elderly, bed-ridden person—possibly in danger, possibly unable to escape if the situation got worse.
The woman had already struck one officer with a candlestick. She was armed with a hammer, shouting threats, and charging toward officers after barricading herself inside a rigged apartment that appeared set up to prevent fire alarms from triggering.
There was no more time to wait.
When she rushed Officer Flores and his team with a hammer raised above her head, he fired to protect his life and his fellow officers.
It was a split-second decision. The kind our police officers are trained to make. The kind that saves lives.
Now they want to lock him up for it.
The district attorney didn’t just charge Officer Flores. He charged all three officers on the scene with first-degree murder.
That’s a life sentence—for answering a call, responding to a threat, and making sure no one else died that day.
This is political. This is a witch hunt. And it’s not justice.
But we can fight back—and we must.
Officer Flores’s legal defense will be long and expensive. That’s where my friends at the National Center for Police Defense come in. NCPD exists to stand in the gap when our heroes are under attack. But we can’t do it without you.
Will you make a life-saving donation of $35, $50, or even $100 or more today to defend Officer Alfred Flores?
Your support goes directly toward helping this decorated officer fight these outrageous charges and reclaim his life, his future, and his freedom.
No officer should be thrown in jail for doing his job. Let’s prove to Officer Flores that America still has his back.
