One of the top concerns Kim has been hearing from people all across our district is about the future of Social Security.

And frankly, they have every right to be worried.

The Social Security Administration—the agency responsible for delivering benefits to millions of Americans—is already stretched to the breaking point.

Thanks to deep staffing and resource cuts from DOGE during the Trump administration, wait times have grown longer, services have been delayed, and people are left anxious about whether they’ll get the benefits they’ve earned.

Now, things could get even worse.

The SSA just announced plans to cut nearly 7,000 more jobs—about 12% of its workforce. That would mean even fewer people to process claims, answer calls, and support the seniors, people with disabilities, and working families who count on Social Security every single day. This is not government efficiency— it’s chaos.

And the people who are left out to dry are everyday Americans— those who paid into this system their entire lives. We simply cannot allow Social Security to be dismantled by neglect and extremists who have proven time and time again that they don't care about the people they were hired to represent.

We built Social Security as a promise: that after a lifetime of hard work, no one would retire into poverty or be left without safety.
