Greetings, Rebels and Jedi alike,

It’s that time of the year again – May the 4th – and you know what that means: it’s time to channel your inner Wookie, fire up your lightsabers, and hypserspace-jump into the Star Wars galaxy.

As many of you know, I’m a proud Star Wars nerd. Growing up, I read “the books” in the expanded universe. In fact, George Lucas is from Modesto, and he’s a hometown hero here in California's Central Valley.

I’ve been training to be a Jedi for practically my whole life, so today I’ll try using the force to get you to donate to my campaign. Let’s see if it works…

Hmmm… That didn’t work? Let’s ask Master Yoda for some advice and try again.

Look, I’ll admit it’s a little unorthodox to use the force over e-mail. But, as a wise little green man once said, “Do or do not, there is no try.”
