John,

On the shelves at Trader Joe's, cucumbers, bell peppers and heads of cauliflower are wrapped up in plastic. The thin plastic film is nearly impossible to recycle.[1]

If that plastic film blows from a landfill into our environment and makes its way to the ocean, that plastic waste could be deadly for a turtle, seabird or dolphin.[2]

Trader Joe's can sell groceries without single-use plastic packaging. Tell Trader Joe's to put wildlife over waste and reduce plastic packaging.

A dolphin recently died off the coast of North Carolina after swallowing a plastic bag.[3]

Plastic pollution keeps getting worse, putting more dolphins, turtles and other wildlife at risk of swallowing plastic every day.

You and I can only do so much to solve the problem when so many of our favorite foods are encased in plastic. Companies need to take the lead and stop using so much plastic packaging.

Our rivers, lakes and the ocean are flooded with plastic. That's why we're asking Trader Joe's to step up its commitment to sustainability and make more of its products plastic free.

Add your name: Trader Joe's should reduce plastic packaging.

A weekly trip to the grocery store shouldn't come with a pile of single-use plastic.

Some of the produce and items at Trader Joe's have shed their plastic packaging, and that's a great start. But with 8 million tons of plastic entering our oceans every year, we need companies to do more to cut the plastic and sell us groceries without the waste.[4]

Urge Trader Joe's to commit to cut back on plastic packaging.
