Welcome back to Team Elise's weekly newsletter! We send a weekly note to
Elise's top supporters to update you on what she's working on in Capitol Hill
and across NY-21!
Here are a few top Team Elise updates and stories we have been tracking for
the past week!
Harvard Antisemitism Rages On in Recent Report
This week, Harvard released a damning report confirming what Elise has been
sounding the alarm about for months: rampant, deep-rooted antisemitism is alive
and well on Harvard’s campus. The report revealed disturbing facts including:
26% of Jewish students feel physically unsafe, and 49% feel their well-being is
not supported. Students also reported being harassed, called “Zionist threats,”
and even compared to colonial oppressors. In one horrifying case, students
posted images showing “Jewish blood” dripping from text alongside violent
anti-Israel slogans.
Elise has been at the forefront of fighting this moral bankruptcy since the
beginning, calling out so-called “elite institutions” like Harvard and Columbia
for failing to protect Jewish students and embracing pro-Hamas extremism under
the guise of activism.
Elise stated –
“This is exactly why I’ve demanded these antisemitic, taxpayer-funded
institutions be defunded. No Jewish student should ever feel unsafe or
unwelcome on an American college campus — period.”

Voter Fraud in NY: Elise Doubles Down on Election Integrity
This week, an illegal immigrant from Iraq was charged with illegally voting in
the 2020 election in Saratoga County. Elise has been a leading force in the
fight to secure our elections, proudly co-sponsoring the Safeguard American
Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act — critical legislation that requires proof of
citizenship to register to vote and protects the integrity of every legal
ballot. New York remains one of the few states without any form of voter ID
requirement. Read more inSun Community News here

.
Elise stated –
“Here is yet another reason why New York State should require identification
to vote. Thankfully law enforcement investigated this latest incident,
involving a 45-year-old non-citizen who illegally voted in the November 2020
election in Saratoga County, according to a federal court filing.
New York remains one of the few states without any form of voter
identification requirement. That is unacceptable. Every legal voter—regardless
of party—deserves to know their vote is protected and not canceled out by fraud
or abuse.
Democrats continue to undermine election integrity—not only by pushing
noncitizen voting but by relentlessly opposing basic voter ID laws.
In March, the New York State Court of Appeals made the right decision in
striking down Democrats’ dangerous law allowing over 800,000 noncitizens to
vote in New York City elections. This unconstitutional attempt to dilute the
voice of American citizens was an egregious attack on our Republic. Voting is a
fundamental right reserved for citizens, as clearly outlined in our state
constitution.
I will continue to fight to safeguard our elections, protect the rights of
lawful citizens, and demand accountability from those who try to compromise the
security and integrity of our democratic process. It’s time for New York to act.
We NEED voter ID now.”

Honoring the Legendary American Victory: ‘Miracle on Ice’ Gold Medal Bill
Passes
This week, the House passed the Miracle on Ice Congressional Gold Medal Act,
and Elise was proud to co-lead this bipartisan effort to recognize one of the
most iconic moments in American sports history. The bill awards Congressional
Gold Medals to the 1980 U.S. Olympic Men’s Hockey Team, whose legendary victory
over the Soviet Union in Lake Placid inspired a nation and symbolized American
strength, unity, and perseverance during the Cold War. As we approach the 50th
anniversary of the “Miracle on Ice,” Elise is honored to ensure that the team’s
legacy is preserved and celebrated for generations to come.

Radical Assisted Suicide Bill Passed by NY Assembly
On Tuesday, the New York State Assembly passed a deeply troubling assisted
suicide bill. Elise called the legislation a “shameful attack on the sanctity
of life” and a betrayal of New York’s most vulnerable citizens, including the
elderly, disabled, and terminally ill.
Elise stated —
“The New York State Assembly’s decision to pass this disgusting assisted
suicide bill is a shameful attack on the sanctity of life and a betrayal of our
most vulnerable citizens. This radical legislation, driven by Governor Hochul’s
Far Left allies, normalizes the termination of human life under the guise of
‘compassion,’ putting the elderly, disabled, and terminally ill at risk of
coercion and despair. As a proud pro-life advocate, I am appalled that Albany
Democrats would prioritize this culture of death over protecting the dignity
and worth of every New Yorker.
This bill undermines the fundamental principle that all life is sacred, a
value I have fought for in Congress. Instead of investing in palliative care,
mental health support, and life-affirming resources for those facing terminal
illness, this legislation offers an immoral shortcut that devalues human life.
It sends a chilling message to our seniors and disabled communities that their
lives are expendable.
New Yorkers deserve better than Far Left policies that erode our moral
foundation and push families toward heartbreak. I call on the State Senate to
reject this dangerous bill and stand up for the voiceless. As the
representative of New York’s 21st District, I will continue to champion life at
every stage and fight against the extremist agenda of Hochul and her Albany
Democrats. We must restore New York’s commitment to the protection of all its
citizens.”

LEGISLATIVE WINS: Delivering Real Results for NY-21 and the American People
This week, Elise continued to lead on key legislation that delivers real
results— protecting taxpayers, supporting veterans, strengthening national
security, and growing the Upstate economy. Here's a look at what was
accomplished on Capitol Hill this week:
Holding Higher Education Accountable
Elise helped pass the Student Success and Taxpayer Savings Plan to bring
much-needed accountability to colleges and universities. The bill ensures
federal funds deliver real value, lowers student debt, and protects taxpayers.

Fighting for Veteran Families
Elise reintroduced the bipartisan Ernest Peltz Accrued Veterans Benefits Act
to ensure veterans’ families receive earned pension benefits without delay. The
bill honors WWII veteran Ernest Peltz and cuts red tape for grieving families.

Securing Our Networks
Elise co-led the Foreign Adversary Communications Transparency Act, which
passed the House. The bill requires the FCC to identify telecom companies
linked to China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea, keeping foreign threats out of
U.S. infrastructure.

Delivering for Plattsburgh Airport
Elise renewed her push to designate Plattsburgh International Airport as an
official Port of Entry, saving the airport over $800,000 annually and boosting
the region’s economic development.

President Trump’s First 100 Days: Promises Made, Promises Kept
In just 100 days, President Trump proved that America First leadership works.
Elise is proud to continue working in Congress to help build on this momentum
and deliver for NY-21, while advancing an agenda that restores American
strength, protects our values, and delivers for hardworking families.
Under President Trump’s leadership, the border was secured with the return of
Remain in Mexico, the shutdown of the CBP One App, and renewed efforts to
combat drug cartels. Inflation is cooling, gas prices are dropping, and
American energy is back! President Trump is also taking bold steps to fight
radical ideologies– ending DEI mandates, banning CRT in schools, defending
women’s sports, restoring merit-based policies in government, and so much more!
Elise stated –
“President [Donald Trump] delivered on his promises in record time during his
first 100 days!”

NYGOP HQ Vandalized Again
Just two weeks after the NYGOP’s Albany headquarters was first defaced with
Nazi symbols, the building was targeted again in a nearly identical act of
politically motivated vandalism. Elise reaffirmed her full support for the
NYGOP team and called on law enforcement to swiftly identify and prosecute the
perpetrator to the fullest extent of the law.
Elise said in a statement –
“The vile and hateful defacement of the New York Republican Party Headquarters
with Nazi imagery for the second time in just two weeks is a disgusting
criminal act and a direct threat to the hardworking staff of the New York
Republican Party.
This was not a random act of vandalism—it was an escalation of political
hatred deliberately aimed at intimidating Republicans and silencing our voices.
I stand in full solidarity with the NYGOP and all those who reject political
violence. We must ensure the perpetrator of this heinous crime is swiftly
identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
I am grateful to the Albany Police Department and the Albany County District
Attorney’s office for treating this matter with the seriousness it demands.
We must never tolerate political violence, regardless of the target. It’s
time to restore respect, dialogue, and decency to our political discourse.”
