Friends,
As we head into May, there’s a lot happening both in Washington and back home in TX-02. This month, I’ve been working on major legislation to strengthen healthcare innovation, advancing bold action to defeat the cartels, and engaging directly with many of you through town halls and school visits.
In this newsletter, you’ll find updates from my recent Newsmax interview, highlights from district events—including student visits—and the latest on key legislative efforts. You’ll also get a preview of the latest Situation Report podcast and community conversations like my recent Between the Trees interview.
Sincerely,
|

Newsmax
I joined Newsmax this week to discuss the bold steps we’re taking to finally defeat the cartels. Over the past two years, I led the first cartel task force, holding more than 30 briefings with experts, U.S. agencies, and even former cartel members to fully understand what works—and what doesn’t. That work laid the groundwork for real action. With the backing of the House Intelligence Committee, we’ve launched the North America First Security Assistance Initiative to coordinate efforts by the DEA, FBI, CIA, and DoD. This strategy will help Mexico take the fight directly to the cartels. With President Trump’s leadership restored and willing partners in Mexico, we now have the plan, the resources, and the momentum to finally turn the tide against cartel violence. |

Tele-Town Hall
One of the highlights of my week was hosting a tele-town hall, where I had the chance to connect directly with many of you and discuss President Trump’s first 100 days back in office. I always appreciate these conversations because they allow me to hear your concerns, answer your questions, and share updates on the work we’re doing. I’m always grateful for the chance to represent TX-02 in Congress and to keep fighting for our district’s priorities.
We’d like to hold these town halls more often, but we’re still figuring out the best way to do that—so thank you for your patience. If you have any suggestions to help us improve these events, please reach out to my team through my website or by calling any of my offices! |

Meeting With Students
Engaging with students from TX-02—both in Washington, D.C. and back home—is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Whether we’re discussing history, leadership, or career opportunities, these conversations are a great reminder of the bright future ahead.
John Cooper School in DC
This week, I had the pleasure of meeting students from The John Cooper School during their visit to Washington, D.C. They are not only learning about history—they are actively participating in it. It’s always encouraging to see young people engaged and interested in the legislative process. I look forward to seeing all that they will accomplish in the future. Go Dragons!

Channelview ISD and San Jacinto Community College
Recently, I spoke with students from Channelview ISD and San Jacinto Community College about expanding opportunities through technical education and skills training. We discussed how the Bipartisan Workforce Pell Act will help them prepare for careers in energy, healthcare, aerospace, and other high-demand fields, especially here in the Houston area. By supporting these programs, we’re giving students the practical skills they need to succeed while simultaneously strengthening our local workforce for the future.

Woodlands Christian Academy
I had a blast visiting the Woodlands Christian Academy while I was back home in the district. We talked about the Founding Fathers and what they meant by the pursuit of happiness. This topic is extremely important to me and influences the way I live my life, so I’m happy to have shared this message with such an amazing group of students. |
"Between the Trees" |
Recently, I had the pleasure of joining The Woodlands Online for an episode of "Between the Trees," where I discussed balancing my work in Congress with family life, reflected on my military service, and shared how I unexpectedly got into politics. I also provided updates on key issues, including the new cartel task force, expanded military training with Mexican Special Forces, and important infrastructure projects across Texas. It was a great opportunity to connect with the community and highlight some of the work we’re doing both locally and nationally.

Energy and Commerce Markup
 |
Rep. Crenshaw at E&C markup |
This week, the Energy and Commerce Committee advanced six bipartisan bills to enhance Americans’ health and strengthen our healthcare system. I was thrilled that H.R. 1082, the Shandra Eisenga Human Cell and Tissue Product Safety Act, which I helped develop, passed out of committee by voice vote. Named for Shandra Eisenga, who tragically died from a contaminated bone graft, the bill strengthens FDA oversight, improves education, and fosters innovation in regenerative medicine—using human cells to heal disease. Regenerative medicine is one of the most promising breakthroughs of our time, and I look forward to working with the FDA to ensure the regulatory framework supports innovation and expands treatment options for patients.

SITREP #13
The Situation Report for May 1, 2025, covers some of the most significant policy moves by the Trump Administration, which you may have missed over the past week. In this episode, I reflect on Pope Francis' legacy, the origins of America’s National Day of Prayer, and the rapidly escalating tensions between nuclear-armed rivals India and Pakistan. |
