With all that’s going on, I want to make sure folks like you have an
opportunity to ask questions about what’s happening in the world.

That’s why I reached out with another edition of my “Ask Adam” series a
few weeks ago. Many of you sent in some great questions, so I want to take
this time to answer a few of them.

Let’s get right to it!

Dannie from Florida asked, “Why is Trump not being charged with insider
trading?”

First, we need the full facts. That’s why I’ve called for an investigation
to get to the bottom of that very issue. For anyone who may be unfamiliar
with what’s going on, here’s a quick summary:

Trump announced major tariffs and sent the stock market crashing, only to
reverse those same tariffs, which sent the stock market back up. A few
hours before Trump’s announcement that he was walking back most of his
tariffs on most countries, there was a spike in market activity.

So here are the questions I want answered: Who knew about his announcement
in advance, and did they or anyone they know cash in? Were people around
Trump personally profiting off of his chaotic moves while people’s
retirement accounts were being destroyed?

I don’t put anything past this administration — especially not from a
president who will do anything to enrich himself and his family and who
promoted his own “meme coin” when he took office.

That’s why I’ve called for an investigation into whether Trump committed
insider trading and if he, his family, or anyone around him personally
profited off his announcements.

Kathleen from California wrote “I am concerned that, observably, the
representatives in Congress decide and vote on issues the way they see fit
rather than act as conduits for ‘we the people’; that is, the people whom
they represent. How do you ensure that YOUR vote actually reflects OUR
needs and wants?"

So here’s how I make sure I remain accountable to folks like you. I travel
up and down the state to hear from my constituents — at town halls,
roundtables, business locations, and schools.

I make it a priority to speak to as many voters as I can to make sure that
my work in the Senate continues to represent your interests and your
concerns. And that’s exactly why my team and I have started this “Ask
Adam” series so that I’m hearing from as many of you as possible about
what you’d like to see me work on in the Senate.

I also refuse to accept corporate PAC money for my Senate campaign. Why?
Because I wanted my campaign to be powered by everyday people like you.

Across the aisle, it’s another story. Republican representatives siding
with Donald Trump over their constituents. Senators who vote for
legislation that benefits their mega-donors more than it does the people
who put them in office.

People don’t want Elon Musk to do mass layoffs and gut programs that
millions of Americans rely on. None of us voted for Elon Musk to be
president. Americans don’t want Donald Trump to abandon our allies and
side with authoritarian regimes like Russia while he’s chipping away at
the rule of law here at home. And they sure as hell don’t want Republicans
to attack their Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare benefits to pay
for tax cuts for the rich.

Diane from California wrote “How secure is the continuation of Social
Security and what is being done at your level to maintain the program and
strengthen it? My husband and I are middle class. A substantial portion of
our income in retirement comes from Social Security and we need it. This
is an insurance program, not a Ponzi scheme.”

I’ll be honest – I’m really worried.

Elon Musk calling Social Security a “Ponzi scheme” couldn’t be a bigger
slap in the face. It’s not a Ponzi scheme. It’s an earned benefit, a
promise made to Americans who’ve worked their entire lives. And you're
right — for millions of working-class and middle-class families, it’s the
difference between a secure retirement and economic hardship.

Unfortunately, that promise and Social Security are under attack. They’re
closing offices across the country, firing staff, and even cutting phone
lines so that when your check doesn’t show up, you won’t have an office to
visit or a person to call. That’s not fiscal responsibility. That’s
cruelty, and it’s designed to clear the way for more tax giveaways to the
wealthy.

It’s all part of their plan – gut Social Security and fire employees; make
the services much, much worse; claim Social Security isn’t saveable; and
then privatize it.

I’m fighting to protect and strengthen Social Security — not just to keep
the program solvent, but to expand it. That means making the ultra-wealthy
pay their fair share into the system, closing loopholes, and ensuring the
program is fully funded for generations to come.

Rest assured, I’m going to fight like hell to protect your hard-earned
benefits and make sure they’re there for you and generations to come.
