John,
Can we just start by saying how disrespectful it is for anyone to say something like “my wife is beholden to me” about their spouse, let alone a spouse who is a candidate for federal office?
So when Patrick Kennedy, a board member for one of Trump’s favorite prison contractors, says his wife and candidate for federal office is beholden to him, we should all sit up and pay attention.
He’s saying the quiet parts out loud because he thinks a famous last name entitles him to control over her, her vote, and our representation in Congress.
This seat is not a proxy vote to be purchased or bargained for by corporate interests.
If you’re as disturbed as we are, we need you on this team.

John,
It’s disturbing enough already – but now let’s remember that he’s on the board of Wellpath, a private prison contractor that helped Trump put immigrants in camps, refused care to inmates to raise their stock price, and is being sued for wrongful death by over 70 grieving families.
Let me be clear – as your Congresswoman, I work for the people of my district to fight for our shared values. Nobody (and definitely not my husband) is standing over my shoulder dictating policy with their corporate board in mind.
If you agree that this kind of insider control over our legislative process is disqualifying, I need you on my team.

We’re seeing the dark underbelly of DC politics on full display here. Don’t let them buy this seat.
