Hi there,
A recent article in Roll Call said about me that “The New York Democrat is doing things the 'Suozzi way' in a district Donald Trump carried.”
What is “the Suozzi way”? Well, a lot of people around the country have been asking how I won in a district that President Trump carried by 3.6 percentage points. Here’s how I get it done.
- Put people first. We’ve got to reject extremism on both sides and work for all Americans. That means coming together to find solutions on tough issues like the cost of living, immigration, and more. Some people have told me those are “Republican issues” and that I shouldn’t talk about them. That’s nonsense, they’re American issues, and the American people want us to solve problems.
- Find common ground. I’m co-chair of the Problem Solvers Caucus. The Problem Solvers Caucus is a group of Democrats and Republicans who meet every week to discuss how we can move our country forward, together. The American people are tired of the constant putdowns and shutdowns–they want results. And we have an obligation to deliver.
- Stand up for my values. While I’ll always try to find common ground, I’ll never abandon my values. When Elon Musk’s DOGE put key programs in NY-03 at risk–like Head Start and the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory–I used my position on the Ways and Means Committee to fight back. When extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene tried to betray our allies in Ukraine, I stood strong and got her to back down. I will always fight for what we care about.
The “Suozzi way” has been a winning formula for me, but there’s one part of it I didn’t mention yet–you! Grassroots supporters like you are a big part of how I won the special and general elections in 2024.
I’ll need your help to stay in Congress with a tough 2026 race fast approaching. Can you pitch in?
