Dear Friends, Family, and Fellow Supporters of Breast Cancer Action,

In 2024, we announced that while Breast Cancer Action would be closing, the resources and the campaigns built over the decades will live on through Our Bodies Ourselves Today and Breast Cancer Prevention Partners. These long-standing and trusted partners will ensure that the valuable tools and information developed over the decades will continue to be available, at no cost, for everyone impacted by this disease.

Breast Cancer Action’s treatment-focused resources and environmental health information will be moved to Our Bodies Ourselves Today, adding to and expanding their comprehensive, feminist health materials. Our Bodies Ourselves Today’s expert panel and reviewers will promote and actively steward Breast Cancer Action’s materials, vetting and developing breast cancer resources going forward.

Breast Cancer Action’s industry-disrupting Think Before You Pink® campaign and will be carried on by Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (BCPP), formerly known as Breast Cancer Fund, which has long been a valued partner in environmental policy and prevention. BCPP will continue to develop Think Before You Pink®, the hard-hitting, environmentally-focused corporate accountability campaign that so many of us have taken part in since 2002, when Breast Cancer Action coined the term pinkwashing and launched the campaign. BCPP will protect the legacy and integrity of this award-winning campaign by also taking ownership of Think Before You Pink’s registered trademark.

This is more than a handoff to these two organizations, this is a continuation.

We are truly grateful for the partnership of these values-aligned organizations, and we are so grateful for supporters who have given to Breast Cancer Action during this transition. Thank you! These funds have been vital to seeing this transition through, and Breast Cancer Action’s remaining financial assets will also be divided between these two organizations to propel the work going forward.

We encourage donors like you to continue to give to both organizations, and to sign-up to follow their work going forward.

Thank you for being part of Breast Cancer Action’s radically-independent, grassroots community that has worked to achieve health justice for all people at risk of and living with breast cancer. We could not have done this work without each of you.

And for those of you in the Bay Area, we’d love to see you next week!

Long-time BCAction board member and beloved event host JoAnn Loulan, Ronny Crawford, and OBOS Executive Director Amy Agigian invite you to: A Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Action joining Our Bodies Ourselves, on Friday May 9th! ([link removed])

This event celebrates how Breast Cancer Action’s extensive research and strong activist ethos will now be the cornerstone of Our Bodies Ourselves’ breast cancer content, and will be available to an even wider audience.

Event organizers have already raised $35,000 and your presence will bring us to the fundraising goal! Join the party from 6:00-10:30 pm for dinner, drinks, and speakers (who are brilliant and cool!) in Los Altos Hills, CA. And there’s more fun! Musical guests Ronny Crawford and the Supernaturals will be providing unstoppable entertainment - wear shoes you can dance in!

To learn more and get tickets, visit the event page. ([link removed]) Exact address provided upon RSVP.

In solidarity,

Breast Cancer Action
