John, in an election year where every campaign is becoming fully digital -- we’re being majorly outraised online by our Republican opponent.
Young Kim is one of the top online raisers this cycle, using hundreds of thousands of dollars in digital ads to attack our campaign. And I’ll be frank: We’re far behind where we need to be to compete with her. Our race will be won by the smallest of margins, and if we’re not matching the pace of our opponents on even one aspect of our campaign, we risk losing the whole election. That’s why, if you can, I’m personally asking that you make your first contribution and pitch in to our digital war chest before midnight tomorrow so we can accelerate our digital spending and make sure we compete with our opponents. We know that the way we’ll win this cycle is by reaching out to as many voters as possible. And since our organizers and volunteers might not be able to go out and knock doors to talk about the issues that matter, digital tools are a major way we can reach out to voters. From phone calls and texts to social media outreach and the tools I’m using to reach out to you by email, we’re using everything we can to send Gil over the finish line. So when I say that our opponent is raising hundreds of thousands on digital -- what I mean is that if we don’t have the resources to ramp up our own digital program, we risk losing this race. And we can’t afford to lose this election. We need a champion on health care and the economy, and someone who will stand up for working families and immigrant communities all over our district. We need to send Gil back to Congress. If you share our urgency, we need you to chip in right now and help us expand our digital program to compete with the Republicans and win.
Thank you, |
