Dear Friends,

This week marked 100 days of Trump chaos, corruption and cruelty brought upon our communities at the hands of Donald Trump, his unelected Co-President Musk and Congressional Republicans. 

Trump and Republicans have put in place crushing tariffs that have brought higher costs to consumers. Through DOGE, Trump and Musk slashed jobs and snatched your personal data. Shamefully, Trump attacked due process and ignored basic human rights and has set his sights on passing tax breaks for the ultra-rich on the backs of our most vulnerable neighbors. 

Strongly, the American people are rising up and speaking out – and it is having an impact. Your personal stories are being heard and some Republicans have told their leadership they cannot support anything that guts Medicaid – calling budget cuts “politically toxic.” Mind you, Republicans have voted for the budget outline – they’re just starting to feel the heat now that their constituents know that these budget cuts are not just numbers on a page – they are hospital closures in rural districts, seniors unable to access medication, and disruption of earned benefits in economically uncertain times.

Democrats must keep up the pressure in this moment as Republicans seem determined to pass a horrible budget and keep deflecting blame for the harm they are causing. We will not let them get away with this! Our Volunteers in Politics remain steadfast and committed to Save Our Health Care and protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Please join us to phone bank voters in competitive Republican districts. These Republicans must hear from their own voters: Hands Off Medicaid and Hands Off Our Safety Net!

Democrats in Congress are not only fighting back against the bad that Republicans are doing; we keep fighting for what we believe in. This week, I stood with other Members and advocates in support of the Equality Act. The message to our LGBTQ+ community is simple and powerful: we see you, we love you, we support you with pride – today and always.

Friends, we are living in challenging times, but challenging times are not the end of the story. Congressional Republicans may be in power now, but I know Democrats are going to win the House – and hopefully the Senate. As we keep coming together, speaking out and acting on our Democratic values, we will make contrast clear to the American people and we will do right by one another again.
