Unlike many of my Republican colleagues, I’m not afraid to host town halls and hear from my constituents in Massachusetts.
On top of in-person town halls like this one, I’ve hosted virtual organizing meetings where our neighbors can engage directly with my team and join in discussion about the challenges that our nation faces.
But many Republicans refuse to do the same. And it’s clearly because they have no way of defending the disastrous Trump agenda that they vote for in Congress. They know that people are angry. And rightfully so:
Working families are worried about Republicans’ huge proposed cuts to Medicaid.
Seniors are worried about Elon Musk’s takeover of the Social Security system and how it has affected service.
Immigrant communities are worried about Trump’s illegal and immoral deportations without due process.
Small business owners, folks with 401ks, and everyone concerned with the rising cost of living are worried about Trump’s tariffs.
So yes, Republicans have a lot to answer for. And they are choosing to run away rather than face their constituents.
That’s why it’s up to us to turn up the heat on Republican members of Congress and use every grassroots tool we have available to let them know that the American people are fed up.
