Email from Rep. Hinson Friend, In just 100 days of having President Trump back in the White House, he and his administration demonstrated what it’s like to have a government that truly listens to the people, is available to the people, and works for the people. My colleagues and I are working overtime alongside the Trump Administration to undo all the damage done during the Biden years, and we are fast-tracking America’s path to a new Golden Age. Here are just a few of the things we have accomplished for the American people in just the first 100 days: Passed legislation to protect the integrity of girls’ sports. I was also proud to join President Trump at the White House for the signing of his commonsense executive order. President Trump took swift and effective executive action to secure our border, start deporting illegal aliens with criminal track records, and disincentivize illegal immigration – leading to record-low crossings. America now has the most secure border in our nation’s history. President Trump was able to accomplish that in seven weeks. We didn’t need a new law to secure the border; we needed a new president. We have also taken action to roll back Biden-era regulations that hurt manufacturers, consumers, and our entire economy. We are ending abuses of taxpayer dollars rather than treating your money like monopoly money. No one has sought to tackle this difficult task head-on and see it through – until Trump. President Trump is working to level the playing field and enact fair trade agreements. A key part of his trade strategy is expanding new markets for Iowa farmers—something Biden failed to prioritize. We’ve gotten a heck of a lot done in the first 100 days—and we’ve only scratched the surface. I can’t wait to get to work on the next 100 days in making D.C. run more like Iowa and delivering for the people of the Second District. Best, ICYMI: Facebook Live with Pastor Jason Ishmael A few weeks ago, Pastor Jason Ishmael joined my Facebook livestream to discuss the newly established White House Faith Office. I’m so thankful for the change that God has brought into our lives and the platform the Trump Administration has created, which will uplift communities, strengthen families, and protect religious liberties. ICYMI: Live From the Cab with Brian Meyer Last week while on my 22-County Tour, I visited Bremer County where I hosted a Facebook Live with Iowa farmer Brian Meyer. We discussed his commitment to conservation, utilization of precision ag tools, expanding access to markets for farmers, and more! Click here to watch my Facebook live with Brian Meyer. My 22-County Tour Continues While in Floyd County last week, I stopped by The Mill, Inc. to dig into an issue that hits close to home for every farmer: securing our ag input supply chain. That’s exactly what my Securing American Ag Act is all about—putting our producers first and safeguarding Iowa & American ag for the long haul. I had a fantastic time at Little Sprouts Child Care this week, where it’s clear just how much heart and hard work goes into caring for our youngest Iowans. Every family—regardless of their zip code—deserves access to quality, affordable child care—and I’m committed to making that a reality. I'm grateful to the amazing team at Little Sprouts for all they do to lift up Chickasaw County families! Welcoming Kirkwood Community College's National Champions to D.C. As we celebrate Community College Month, I welcomed the NJCAA DII Men’s Basketball National Champions from Kirkwood Community College to my D.C. office! Big congrats on an incredible season — all their hard work paid off this season. In Case You Missed It: Quick Hits I commended President Trump for securing the border in seven weeks. I thanked the Trump Administration for following through on its commitments to Iowa farmers and biofuels producers by allowing the sale of E15 this summer nationwide. Prior to this announcement, I led a letter urging the administration to ensure this could be guaranteed for farmers, and I’m thrilled to see them take this crucial step. I had a productive meeting with the Iowa Health Care Association this week and expressed my gratitude for their work and partnership as we keep pushing to expand access and provide quality care for Iowans. I commended President Trump and Speaker Johnson for lifting up America through prayer. I thanked the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives for stopping by my DC office. I met with the Iowa Association of Nurse Anesthetists, a group of healthcare heroes who play a huge role in ensuring Iowans receive safe and quality medical care. I ran into my friends Chairwoman Lisa McClain and Congresswoman Erin Houchin, and we took a photo in our red, white, and blue outfits. I released a statement on the unprecedented successes under President Trump and House Republicans. I gave an update from right outside the U.S. Capitol about President Trump's first 100 days. I reiterated the promises made and promises kept under the Republican trifecta and President Trump. I voted for the TAKE IT DOWN Act to protect children online and thanked First Lady Melania Trump for leading on this fight. I recapped my 22-County Tour stops from last week. On the Airwaves I joined Mornings with Maria on Fox Business to discuss the unprecedented successes of the first 100 days under President Trump and a Republican trifecta. I also joined the Simon Conway Show to discuss extending tax cuts for Iowans and more. I had a great conversation with Jeff Angelo on the WHO Morning Show talk about the work I'm doing in Congress to advance President Trump's agenda. I spoke with Doug Wagner on Voice of Iowa Morning Show where we discussed securing the border, extending tax cuts, and my top priorities in Congress.
