Hiya friends,

My name is Iesha White, and I’m thrilled to join Check My Ads as the new Director of Intelligence, where I’ll be working alongside this incredible team to shine a light on the opaque global advertising technology industry—a world I’ve been embedded in for over a decade.

Like so many in the industry, I fell into adtech by accident, and my journey through the digital advertising industry has given me a clear perspective of the supply-chain. I’ve worked for adtech companies, indie ad agencies, global ad agencies, and major brands, where I have witnessed first-hand how the race to the bottom for low-cost advertising inventory within this $700 billion-dollar industry has enabled the fraud, spam, scams, and manipulation across the internet today.

This work is about creating a better internet for everyone. As a programmatic practitioner, I've personally experienced what it's like to navigate the labyrinth of paid media, and I’ve seen first-hand what types of harms and risks our current landscape poses to brands, agencies, and the general public. My mission is to democratize knowledge in paid media, and to make sure that everyone in our community understands what is at stake for advertisers and citizens.

With the incredible team at Check My Ads, I look forward to future-proofing our media landscape for efficiency, fairness, and quality—for everyone.

A STATEMENT FROM CLAIRE

As part of an amicable resolution to the November 2023 lawsuit that the video streaming platform Rumble (Rumble.com) filed against Nandini and Claire, we have agreed to share this message:

Between May and October 2023, we published a series of social media posts and an article that reported that Rumble was heavily reliant on revenue it received from Google Ads at that time. One of those posts, which stated that Rumble derived 90% of its revenue from Google Ads, was factually incorrect. We have also subsequently learned that Rumble is not financially reliant on Google. We regret the errors. In January 2022, Rumble launched its own advertising exchange, the Rumble Advertising Center, which has positioned Rumble to be financially independent from Google Ads and Big Tech. We also understand the Rumble Advertising Center drives nearly all of Rumble’s ad revenue, which comes from advertisers who want to place ads on Rumble. Check My Ads remains committed to advocating for advertiser choice and transparency in online advertising. Competing with Google in the ad market is an uphill challenge for ad-tech competitors, and we respect Rumble’s successful efforts to extract itself from Google’s monopoly.

⚖️ We played a small role in a big thing! In the U.S. v. Google trial that Arielle covered over at www.usvgoogleads.com, the court has issued a ruling declaring Google a monopoly.
