While we work to address the problems that working families are facing, Trump is busy jacking up prices and giving his rich friends like Elon Musk tax breaks – at the expense of the American people.

As a governor, every day I’m trying to deliver for folks in my state, looking for solutions to the most pressing issues Bay Staters are facing. How do I lower costs? How do I build more homes? How do I make sure they have access to health care and good schools?

In stark contrast, Trump and Elon only care about the question: How can we help ourselves? They’ve cut funding for cancer research, threatened Social Security, and fired thousands of essential federal workers, including veterans. Trump ran on a promise of lowering costs, and all he’s done is make life harder and more expensive for the people of Massachusetts and around the country.

Democratic governors like myself are fighting for progress – and standing as the last line of defense on our fundamental freedoms. In her first term as Governor, Healey has delivered on key promises to make Massachusetts a more affordable place to live and a great place for businesses to operate. She cut taxes for the first time in 20 years, signed a $5 billion housing bill to lower costs, and made historic investments in education, roads, bridges and public transportation.
