A few weeks ago, Donald Trump ordered the Justice Department to begin an investigation of ActBlue, a major grassroots donation platform for Democratic campaigns — including my own.

Let me be clear: Trump’s investigation is a sham about suppressing free speech and weaponizing the government against his political opponents.

Donald Trump would rather leave power in the hands of the ultra-wealthy than in the small-dollar, grassroots donors.

By limiting how and when grassroots supporters — including people like you — can chip in and support campaigns they believe in, your power to impact elections is diminished. And that’s not how our democracy works.

I believe strongly in the power of grassroots movements. It’s how I was first elected to the Senate, and it’s how I was re-elected last year in one of the closest races around the country.

I’m fighting back against Trump’s sham investigation, and I hope you will chip in your support to show Trump that you stand on the side of the grassroots movement.
