We recently marked 100 days since our community faced a historic and unimaginable tragedy in the Palisades fire and other wildfires throughout the region.

The Army Corps of Engineers has worked hard to not just to help us rebuild on schedule, but ahead of schedule, removing debris, repairing damaged buildings, and rebuilding what we lost. This week we announced crews have now successfully cleared debris from more than 1,000 homes in the Palisades, marking a significant milestone in the community's recovery from the devastating January fires.

My top priority has always been to get people back home and back to their lives — building houses and rebuilding the community places that we hold dear, like our libraries, schools, and recreation centers.

We’ve cleared hazardous materials at a record pace. We restored water and power to standing homes in less than two months. And I used every tool I could to cut through the red tape, help to relocate impacted schools and childcare facilities, provide tax relief to small businesses impacted by the fire, and have expedited the process to rebuild homes that are protected from future wildfires.
