Supreme Court hears challenge to Obamacare free preventive health care
Late last month, the Supreme Court took up a case that could threaten free preventive health care services under the Affordable Care Act — and Republicans desperately want it to go unnoticed.
Just days ago, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments where the plaintiffs, led by a former lawyer for Donald Trump, argued that insurance companies should be able to deny coverage for a wide range of preventative health treatments, including cancer and diabetes screenings, medication to prevent the spread of HIV, and more.
Today, insurance companies are required by law to cover these treatments. But if the right-wing Supreme Court agrees with Trump’s lawyer, over 150 million Americans could lose their preventative health care benefits.
We don’t know exactly how the Supreme Court will rule on this case, but we can promise you this: As long as Brittany Pettersen is serving in Congress, she will fight day in and day out to defend our health care.
She’s fought to expand access to high-quality, affordable health care — and introduced bipartisan legislation to help people access mental health care and substance use disorder treatment. Because she knows firsthand how hard it can be for people to find affordable, quality health care.
If you’re with Brittany in this fight, she could really use your support in the fight to defend and expand affordable health care. If you can, please pitch in $5, $25, or whatever you can today to help Brittany continue standing up for the people of Colorado:
