General Newsletter from the Office of Senator Andy Kim

Happy Friday, New Jersey!

This past week, Senator Kim was at the Capitol, standing up for working families, holding the Trump Administration accountable, and speaking out about the Trump Administration’s first 100 days.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU ABOUT AMERICORPS:

Recently, DOGE sent out letters that cut around 500 New Jersey AmeriCorps positions at programs across the state. AmeriCorps members exemplify public service, helping to make our communities a better place to live and reminding us of the importance of giving back. Senator Kim would like to know: are you an AmeriCorps member who has been cut? Are you an AmeriCorps alumnus who would like to share your story? Do you believe that public service should be protected across our state and country?

If you’re willing to share your story, please do here!

You can see more highlights below from this week’s work in New Jersey and DC:

SPEAKING OUT ABOUT TRUMP’S ‘AMERICA ONLY’ POLICIES:

The Trump Administration is not only destroying our economy here at home, his policies are also making our allies look elsewhere for support at a time when the world should be coming together to solve the global problems we all face.

Senator Kim wrote an opinion piece about how Trump’s ‘America First’ is becoming ‘America Alone’ — at the worst possible time. You can read his full piece here.

DEMANDING ANSWERS ABOUT EDAN ALEXANDER AND COMBATTING ANTISEMITISM:

Edan Alexander, a New Jersey native, has been held for over 550 days in Gaza by Hamas after the brutal terror attack on October 7th, 2023. Earlier this week Senator Kim called for answers on Edan’s condition and reiterated the need for him to come home. You can read more about the Senator’s calls for answers here

Also this week, Senator Kim brought up the fear that Jewish American communities in New Jersey and across the country feel during the Senate Committee on Aging’s hearing on the rise of Antisemitism. Senator Kim spoke to the dire need to defend and expand federal resources that help combat antisemitism and protect Jewish communities.

You can read about the Senator’s work combatting Antisemitism and watch his full line of questions during the hearing here.

SUMMARIZING TRUMP’S FIRST 100 DAYS:

Senator Kim also spoke with Christina Ruffini at MSNBC about the Trump Administration’s disastrous first 100 days of lawlessness, tanking our economy, and hurting working families and public servants. You can watch his interview here.
