Dear Friend,

I have lost a family member to overdose. And I am one of 500 family members who signed a letter to Trump asking for a health-first approach to the overdose crisis. If you are someone who lost a loved one to overdose, will you add your name?

I carry the grief of losing my loved one — and I’m not alone. Working at DPA for over a decade, I have met so many parents, siblings, and others who have suffered the pain of losing a loved one to the overdose crisis.

As Mother’s Day approaches, countless moms will be without their child due to an overdose death. We want to ensure no other mother has to experience such a painful loss. That's why we are honoring our loved ones lost by demanding health solutions to overdose. Nearly 500 families have signed in support - will you add your name?

Right now, it’s critical for us to speak up. President Trump wants to cut $1.5 trillion from addiction and overdose prevention services to funnel more money into enforcement. The U.S. continues to choose criminalization over care when we need a public health approach to overdose. I know health solutions work. We are beginning to see a decline in overdose deaths because of lifesaving health and harm reduction services. We need to keep fighting for the lives of our loved ones.

That’s why we’ve collaborated with Broken No More on an open letter from families affected by the overdose crisis, and we need your help.
