Designed to mimic the Drudge Report, the White House Wire only features far right outlets, amplifying Trump’s messaging, and shutting out dissent. And it’s being built with public money—all while Trump and Musk slash Social Security, gut air traffic safety, and defund scientific and medical research.

John,

This week, the Trump White House quietly launched a government funded propaganda site called the White House Wire

The site is a blatant rip off of the Drudge Report, linking to right-wing misinformation from Breitbart, Fox, and Trump’s own social media posts:

The site is being hosted on WhiteHouse.gov. And it’s being funded by your tax dollars, John.

More than just another shameless act of self-promotion, Trump’s new propaganda website is a textbook authoritarian move.

Designed to mimic the Drudge Report, the White House Wire only features far right outlets that praise Trump. And it was built with public dollars—all while Trump and Musk slash Social Security, gut air traffic safety, and defund scientific and medical research.

The site is just the latest in the broader effort to replace an independent press with a state-aligned media ecosystem.

The Department of Justice recently revoked long-standing protections that shielded journalists from being forced to reveal their sources—raising the threat of prosecution for reporting Trump doesn’t like.

Public broadcasters like NPR are now facing funding cuts, while legacy media like CBS News and the Washington Post are being squeezed into compliance by outright extortion.

Trump also banned the Associated Press from Air Force One and the Oval Office after the AP refused to rename the “Gulf of Mexico” the “Gulf of America” in its reporting.

More than 1,300 journalists at Voice of America, Radio Free Asia, and other federally funded outlets were furloughed after the administration revoked their budgets—until a federal court ordered the funds restored.

And just this week, Trump called for investigations into pollsters and journalists who published unfavorable approval ratings.

We could go on and on, but the White House Wire isn’t just more Trump bullshit and bluster, it’s the tip of the spear for the war on the free press.
