The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade, today spoke with Greece’s Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis.
Minister Ng thanked Minister Georgiadis for his government’s support for the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). She underlined how agreements like CETA create good jobs, better position businesses and workers for future prosperity, and will help grow our economies post-COVID-19.
The ministers highlighted the strong economic and people-to-people ties between Canada and Greece, noting the opportunities for increased trade and investment that will benefit Canadian and Greek workers, farmers, producers and businesses.
Minister Ng also promoted Canada’s world-class clean technologies sector as a solution for Greece’s efforts to move towards more renewable energy sources in line with the European Green Deal. The ministers also spoke about potential opportunities in the aerospace sector, which would create good jobs for Canadians and Greeks alike.
