 This weekend: Concert for Peace
 Sun 4 May Victoria Embankment War Memorial
A special Concert for Peace to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day and VJ Day will take place this Sunday from 12pm-4pm.
The family-friendly concert will feature performances from the Band of the Royal Engineers, Nottingham Military Wives Choir and the Ukrainian Community Choir, as well as sounds and songs from the wartime era, and audience participation. Bring your own picnics, chairs and blankets to enjoy the concert, and there will be food vendors too.
Admission is free and tickets are not required. Free parking is available at County Hall. The event is presented by Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire County Council, in partnership with Experian, Arc Partnership and Via East Midlands.

Celebrating its 140th anniversary this year, the Nottinghamshire County Show showcases the best of farming, countryside and rural life. Attractions will include livestock, equine, local food producers and craft stalls, countryside competitions, trade stands and more.
The show will also commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a parade to mark Nottinghamshire agriculture’s contribution to the war effort, and how the county helped keep wartime Britain from going hungry, which saw its fields tended by the Land Girls.
