Our new report tracking President Trump’s conflicts of interest has been out for 5 days. Thanks to President Trump’s and Vice President Pence’s apparent enthusiasm for mixing government work and Trump’s personal profits, it’s already out of date.
We know that Trump took a two-week working vacation at Bedminster, where he reportedly spoke with NRA leadership on gun control, and traveled back and forth to what appeared to be government thrown campaign rallies. We also know that because Trump never divested from his businesses, taxpayers helped Bedminster make a profit by subsidizing the vacation.
If you haven’t yet, take a few minutes to read our report—the numbers are overwhelming, and the case they make is damning: President Trump’s failure to divest has been a catastrophe for our democracy and has led to unchecked corruption in the last two and a half years.
If you believe that tracking these conflicts and holding this administration accountable matters, that a president profiting off the presidency is wrong, and that our democracy is threatened by foreign governments and special interests paying the president, please consider contributing to support CREW’s essential, innovative research.
Our research has been cited by members of Congress, and has helped shift the public conversation about President Trump’s corruption--and that’s not even mentioning our groundbreaking legal work. CREW relies on supporters like you to fund this work, so if you’re able, contribute now to help us continue defending our democracy.
