Thank you to our city engineers and community advocates for bringing this project to fruition. | City Hall turned blue for Denim Day as staff stood united against sexual violence, showed support for survivors, and took a stand against victim-blaming. This annual observance originated from a 1998 Italian Supreme Court ruling that overturned a rape conviction based on the victim’s tight jeans, sparking international protest and the adoption of denim as a symbol of solidarity. | It was a packed week with several opportunities for my staff and me to meet with, tour, and learn from organizations, volunteers, and city workers doing great things for our region and its residents. - Thank you to the City’s Special Events & Filming team, Christina and Guy, in partnership with the County, Port, and Airport, for showcasing San Diego’s film-ready locations and their economic potential to the film industry. Now with streamlined processes and a dedicated team in place, San Diego is not only the perfect backdrop for the silver screen but also primed for the film industry to thrive.

Their dedication speaks to the strength of our communities and the power of coming together in times of crisis.
