This past week, I had the pleasure of hosting the 2025 Congressional Art Competition ceremony at the Trickster Cultural Center in Schaumburg, where we celebrated the incredible artistic talent of high school students from across our district.
This year’s competition was one of the most competitive yet, showcasing the creativity and vision of so many young artists. I’m thrilled to announce our top three winners:
- 1st Place: Joshua Black of Aurora Central Catholic, Grade 12, for Berri vs The Business Square
- 2nd Place: Mikayla Stevens of Hoffman Estates High School, Grade 10, for Moment of Glory
- 3rd Place: Kayli Elizondo of Hoffman Estates High School, Grade 11, for White Dog at Sunset
Joshua’s artwork will soon hang in the U.S. Capitol, where it will be seen by Members of Congress, staff, and thousands of visitors from around the world every day. Congratulations to all the students who participated in this year’s contest – you should be proud of your incredible work.
