REMINDER: The anti-racism and allyship call is happening RIGHT NOW. Click here to join the video call directly for this important conversation. -- The PCCC Team

In partnership with MoveOn, NARAL, Indivisible, NextGen, UltraViolet and more, we are launching a livestream event series for our collective memberships to discuss the political and cultural significance of the movement for Black lives protests. This series will focus around educating and organizing our memberships to be stronger allies and fully embrace a stance of anti-racism.

This moment is pivotal to learning and growing individually and collectively, telling a more complete story of systemic racism that pushes back on right-wing narratives, and educating ourselves on how to be more explicitly anti-racist in our lives.

The first event is TODAY, June 11, 2020, 5pm-6:15pm EDT and will be built around telling the story of the protests, why the current anger being expressed is justified, and the role of police violence in the current landscape.

RSVP right now to get your unique link for the call.

On the call, we'll hear from Marcia Chatelain, Ph.D. who will discuss this moment from a historical perspective, Charlene Caruthers to speak on the nature of the protests themselves, as well as Rashad Robinson from Color of Change to discuss systemic racism in our current state of over-policing. We'll also have a roundtable conversation led by MoveOn's Reggie Hubbard on where we go from here.

Through these discussions we will push back against those who insist on condemning these protests. We'll support our members who feel less connected to this moment and help people understand how they can best show up now and going forward.

Please join us for this important discussion at this pivotal moment of collective consciousness and awareness raising. You can register for the event here.

PCCC is proud to co-sponsor this series of calls with MoveOn, NARAL, Indivisible, NextGen, UltraViolet, Ballot Initiative Strategy Center, Bend the Arc, Care in Action, Center for International Policy, Congressional Progressive Caucus Center, Daily Kos, Demos, For Our Future, Freedom Forward, Friends of the Earth, NWLC, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, re: power, Sierra Club, State Voices, Supermajority, The Wilderness Society, Win Without War, and the Working Families Party.

We look forward to working with you to help make this nation more in line with its values of equality and justice for all.
