The month of May is dedicated to Our Lady. Now let us go forth, invoking our most compassionate mother of all and seek her “good counsel”. 

Day 1—Holy Spirit/Sacred College of Cardinals 

Without a doubt, the entire Catholic world is focused on the upcoming papal electoral process of our Church which has ancient roots. The word “conclave” means “with key” in that the members of the Sacred College of Cardinals are locked away “with key” in the confines of the Sistine Chapel. 

In one famous incident in Renaissance times, there was a months-long stalemate in the voting. It went on so long that those who held the “key” to the Sistine Chapel began to reduce their Eminences’ food rations until they came up with a compromise candidate! 

In a spirit of prayer and sacrifice we offer our prayer to Our Lady of Good Counsel for the Sacred College of Cardinals, that they may be guided by the Holy Spirit in the selection of the next Vicar of Christ to lead our Church according to the Will of Christ. 

Share this link with your family, friends and Catholic groups so that Our Lady, who is the living temple of the Holy Trinity, may guide them in their most pressing needs.

May Our Lady of Good Counsel, who is the Depositary of the secrets of the Most High, come to the aid of the Cardinals gathered in Rome to elect the Vicar of Christ.
