[link removed] [[link removed]] Friend, every day, I’m humbled by the experience I’ve had serving the people of Colorado.

My family’s history and how it inspired my path to public office is a uniquely American story, only made possible by the promise this great nation made when it opened its arms so many years ago.

I want to share my story with you, but if you don’t have time right now, I’d appreciate if you could chip in to my campaign ahead of tonight’s end-of-month fundraising deadline. Every dollar donated goes a long way to help us build a robust grassroots campaign to win this race.

My grandparents grew up in Poland, where they were shopkeepers before World War II. After Heidi and I got married, we visited their hometown. The only reminders of my family that remain are in the local Jewish cemetery.

My grandparents survived during the war in various work camps and concentration camps. In late 1944, while my grandmother was in Buchenwald, a Nazi concentration camp, she found out that she was pregnant with my mother. She was able to sneak a coded note through others from Buchenwald to my grandfather, who was then at the Theresienstadt concentration camp. The note read, "You have what to live for,” letting him know that she was pregnant.

My grandmother gave birth at a time when pregnant women were at risk daily of being murdered by Nazi guards. It is a miracle that my mom was born—and that I am here. And a miracle that U.S. soldiers, just days after her birth, liberated the camp.

[link removed] [[link removed]]It’s a miraculous story. Their resilience, their belief in a better future, their strength, and the courage of others who helped them, have inspired me every day of my life. And it’s why I’ve dedicated my life to public service.

My family and I have a deep gratitude for the United States and what it stands for. And I feel strongly in our duty to defend our nation’s commitment to freedom. That’s why I decided to go to law school, and devote my life to fighting for justice.

After law school, I was humbled by receiving the opportunity to clerk for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She became a mentor and role model for me, inspiring me to always fight injustice and stand up for our freedoms, equal justice for all, and what is right. During our last visit before her passing, Justice Ginsburg asked me, “How is my favorite General doing?”

My answer then, and now, is that serving as Colorado’s Attorney General has been the greatest privilege of my career. In this role,I had the privilege to argue before Justice Ginsburg and the Supreme Court to defend Colorado’s elections in the last case she heard before she passed away.

As your Attorney General, I stand up to protect the rule of law and our democracy, even when it means taking on the President of the United States. As the People’s Lawyer,I also lead the charge against irresponsible companies that are ripping off Coloradans.

In my work as the People’s Lawyer, I’ve taken on Big Pharma, securing over $875 million to address opioid addiction in Colorado. I defended the Affordable Care Act, supported DREAMERs, and protected Colorado’s right to adopt greater emission standards to protect our land, air, and water. And I prevailed against President Trump in court—time and again— defending birthright citizenship and other constitutional protections as his lawless administration continues to act as though they are above the law.

I’m running for Governor to continue my service of delivering for the people of Colorado. And with my end-of-month fundraising deadline expiring just hours from now, I could really use your support. So friend, are you with me? Make a donation before tonight’s deadline and join this grassroots movement to fight for all Coloradans: [[link removed]

Thank you. I really appreciate it,

Phil
