Data Informs School Nursing Practice
Data can be used to create and maintain a culture of evidence-based and data-informed practice. Evidence-based practice is the foundation of 21st century school nursing practice and is an integral part of the Scope and Standards of School Nursing Practice. Evidence-based, data-informed practice is utilized in all five of the practice components that make up the Framework for 21st Century School Nursing PracticeTM.

Podcast: Parent Communication and Bullying Among Hispanic Adolescent Girls
About 57 percent of daughters reported experiencing some form of victimization and 37 percent reported engaging in some type of bullying behavior. In this podcast, we report findings regarding parent communication and daughter’s experiences of bullying and victimization in a sample of Hispanic families with seventh-grade daughters.

Healthier Generation and NASN Partner to Support Out-of-School Time
Alliance for a Healthier Generation has developed downloadable roadmaps to explore the implementation of standards to create a healthier out-of-school time (OST) environment for kids. All roadmaps are aligned to the recently refreshed National After School Association Standards for Healthy Eating and Physical Activity. In collaboration with CASEL, each roadmap also includes guidance on integrating social-emotional health into a healthier OST for kids. And most recently, in collaboration with NASN, a roadmap was developed to address kids with chronic health conditions in OST.
