Friend,
We’re officially 100 days into the second Trump administration, and it’s been nothing short of a disaster for free speech, a free press and privacy. To make matters worse, the spread of disinformation is making it harder for people to get the accurate information they need in this period of crisis.
Right now a generous donor is DOUBLING every dollar our supporters give — and we’re aiming for 100 donations to strengthen our activism and advocacy, and help fund research to protect your rights to connect and communicate.
We started looking through our supporter records — here’s what we have on file for you in 2025:

What we’ve seen in the first 100 days of the Trump administration is the abuse of government power to threaten, punish and defund institutions and media outlets that don’t fall in line with the MAGA agenda.
But we’re not backing down from our demand that the lawless Trump regime get its hands off our democracy, our essential services and our fundamental rights. Last week, we mobilized Free Press Action supporters to drop by their lawmakers’ offices and express their concerns while members of Congress were home during their scheduled recess.
This kind of organizing really matters — because there’s strength in numbers. And the more Congress hears from us, the less likely they’ll be to give the Trump administration carte blanche to violate our privacy, gut funding for public media and launch witch hunts against broadcasters that air stories they don’t like.
Let’s keep this momentum going. We’re grateful for your support of Free Press so far. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to make your first investment in our work, this is it. Donate to Free Press while your gift will go twice as far.
Anything you can give at this critical time will help us mount the strongest fight possible against the Trump administration’s authoritarianism.
Thank you so much,
Candace and the rest of us at Free Press
