When we launched our campaign with the decision to reject corporate PAC money, I wasn’t sure what to expect.

I knew Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell and their allies would do and spend whatever it took to defeat us, and I was worried about whether we could keep up by focusing on small-dollar individual donations. It was a big risk.

But then, moments after our announcement, Jonathan, a dentist from Freeport made a $100 donation. Right after that, Joan, a teacher from Westport Island chipped in $3. $25 more from a speech pathologist in Bangor, $100 more from a florist in Raymond... and we were off.
