NPR: In first 100 days, Trump tests limits, creates chaos and turns from allies

NEW: Trump orders investigation of two first-term administration aides who criticized him

Do you believe voting rights should be protected?

YES
NO

It’s been 100 days since Donald Trump returned to power -- and we’ve seen our democracy pushed to the brink. Already leadership in Washington has:

-- Pushed the SAVE Act to block millions of eligible voters.
-- Tried to ban ballot barcodes to throw elections into chaos.
-- Gutted protections inside the Department of Justice meant to safeguard voting rights.
-- Signed executive orders making it harder for federal agencies to help Americans register to vote.

And that’s just the first 100 days.

With voting rights under attack, we want to know what local respondents think, so we’re asking:

Donald Trump just ordered investigations into two of his former aides.

Their offense? Criticizing him.

That’s right – instead of focusing on real issues facing Americans, Trump is targeting people who spoke out against him. Not because they broke the law. Not because of any wrongdoing. But because they didn’t show him enough loyalty.

This is the kind of authoritarian behavior we expect in dictatorships – not democracies.
