Belly of the Beast lays bare the inequalities and systemic racism that we find in our country as it investigates illegal, involuntary sterilizations in the U.S. prison system. The documentary follows a young woman and a lawyer in California over seven years as they help expose a series of statewide crimes, from inadequate health care to sexual assault to sterilizations, primarily targeting incarcerated women of color. The 8th tells the story of Irish women and their fight to overturn one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the world.
