John,
We know that environmental justice and reproductive justice go hand in hand. We believe in a world where everyone can raise the children they choose to have in safe, healthy communities.
Give to show you agree.
However, anti-abortion leaders are using people’s fears about environmental contamination as a backdoor effort to restrict abortion pills. SB1976, a bill introduced in Texas, would require testing of the water supply for a number of things including mifepristone, commonly known as the abortion pill. [1]
It may sound like a ridiculous reach, but it is one step towards their ultimate goal of eliminating medication abortion. Don’t let them.
It’s bad enough that they’re trying to pretend like they care about the environment. It’s worse that they’re drumming up people’s fears about very real issues involving pollution, climate change, and an uncertain environmental future to go after bodily autonomy.
Donate to call this out for what it is: a smokescreen to their true agenda.
Sincerely,
Erin Matson

P.S. If they really cared about the environment, there are PLENTY of ways to help. Manufacturing fear about abortion pills is not one of them.
