As avian flu spreads across the country — hitting poultry farmers and driving up grocery prices — Trump is gutting the very public health systems we need to stop it. He’s slashing funding for disease tracking and emergency response. It’s reckless and dangerous, and it makes it far more likely that this outbreak spins out of control.
I’ve spent my career in public health. I know what’s at stake when leaders ignore science and dismantle our defenses. We have to hold the line — before it's too late.
