Dear John,
Last weekend, the United States and Iran sat down for the first time in years to discuss the future. Quietly, in Oman , both sides described the talks as “constructive”—and even included brief moments of direct engagement. This Saturday, they’re set to meet again.
Last night, The New York Times [[link removed]] confirmed what we’ve long warned: Israel pressing the U.S. to support a large-scale strike on Iran—including ground commandos, sustained bombings over several days, and follow-up attacks in the months to come. The plans are real, and the pressure is mounting.
What happens in the negotiating room will shape the future of U.S.-Iran relations and the broader Middle East—and determine whether we’re on the path to peace, or heading toward another devastating war in the Middle East.
Because there is no third option. Either they reach a deal—or prepare for war.
Diplomacy has put those plans on hold—for now. President Trump declined to back the strike plan and has left the door open to a negotiated agreement. But the window for diplomacy is narrow—and the forces for war are doing everything they can to shut it.
Groups like AIPAC and FDD are already working to kill these talks before they begin. They're flooding Congress with pressure, spreading disinformation, and even claiming to speak for Iranian Americans in support of escalation.
They don't. And we can't let them.

We know what our community wants— because we asked.
In NIAC’s 2025 Member Survey [[link removed]]
* Preventing war was ranked as the top priority
* Nearly 90% support renewed diplomacy
* 97% oppose the broad sanctions that continue to devastate Iran’s people
In our 2024 Voter Outreach Campaign: [[link removed]]
* We reached over 120,000 Iranian-American voters across 16 states
* 75% said avoiding war with Iran should be a top priority for the next U.S. president
* In battleground states like Wisconsin and Michigan, support was even higher
Even Trump-aligned voters told us they want a deal—not another war. This is not a partisan issue. It’s a moral one.
If war breaks out, we know what will follow: collective punishment, travel bans, surveillance, and new attacks on our civil rights here at home—just like in 2020, but worse. This time, we’re preparing. And we’re organizing.
Your support helps ensure that:
* Our voice isn’t co-opted by hawks pushing for bombs over our homeland
* We build bipartisan support for peace through education and outreach
* We defend our rights here at home—before the next crisis hits
We’ve seen this play out before. But this time, we have a choice.
Let’s not watch it happen again.
Make your donation today and help us protect diplomacy—before it’s too late. [[link removed]]
