Subject: Asking you personally
Dear John,
Tomorrow is my governor campaign’s second ever fundraising deadline, and a
lot’s on the line.
[ [link removed] ]So I’m writing to you directly to ask if you’ll donate $5 or whatever
you can spare to help us reach our $75,000 email end-of-month fundraising
goal?
Early fundraising has a lot of upsides. It can help us raise more money,
by showing people that this is a campaign to take seriously. It can send a
message to special interests that they should stay out of this race. And
perhaps most importantly, it gives us the ability to better plan our
resources and stretch our donations the furthest they can go.
I know that many political campaigns go overboard with their fundraising
asks. I stay very mindful of this—and at the very least, I try to keep
things fun and informational, so you can get a laugh and learn a thing or
two.
But because I reject money from corporations, lobbyists, and executives at
Big Pharma, Big Oil, and Big Banks, the only way I can raise the resources
I need to win and keep fighting for working people is through grassroots
donations.
[ [link removed] ]Ahead of our April fundraising deadline tomorrow, I’m asking you
personally: will you chip in $5 or more to help our campaign get off to
the strongest possible start?
Thank you so much,
Katie
