Congress may have been gone for spring break, but April flew by in a flurry of activity.

Clean energy tax credits continue to be on the forefront ([link removed]*1r3c8jv*_gcl_au*MTI4NjU1MjEwOS4xNzQ0ODMyNzI0) of Republican minds, as the debate over the future ([link removed]) of the IRA continues. ConservAmerica President Jeff Kupfer outlined a conservative approach to evaluating clean energy tax credits when he sat down with the Good Energy podcast recently - you can watch here ([link removed]) , or listen here ([link removed]) or here ([link removed]) . And in case you missed it, earlier this month, we hosted a panel ([link removed]) of experts from the Brattle Group and American Petroleum Institute to discuss the report
([link removed]) about the impacts of eliminating certain credits that we released earlier this year, as well as growth in energy demand, and developments in hydrogen technologies.

We also took a closer look ([link removed]) this month at the 45Q tax credit for carbon sequestration. First established in 2008, 45Q has helped make carbon capture economically viable and encouraged innovation in technologies that either prevent the release of carbon dioxide from industrial activities or pull carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere.

Last week, the Department of the Interior (DOI) implemented ([link removed]) emergency procedures designed to slash the multi-year permitting processes for energy and critical minerals to a maximum of 28 days. While there is still much to do in order to fix the country’s broken and burdensome permitting system, DOI’s action is a significant step towards President Trump’s American Energy Dominance goals. You can read our take here ([link removed]) .

In April we celebrated Earth Day ([link removed]) , which offered a timely reminder that true conservation is about empowering individuals and fostering responsible use of the land. ConservAmerica Senior Fellow and former President Rob Sisson marveled at the wonder of our physical world in a personal message to people of faith, which you can read here. ([link removed]) April also brought National Parks week - we took a look at the growing tension between visions of future park management here. ([link removed])

That’s it from us this month. In honor of National Parks Week, here’s a link ([link removed]) to help you plan your next visit. Get out there and enjoy our country’s incredible landscape!
