John,

Celebrating Pride Month in New York City, with one of the largest Pride marches in the world, is an incredible experience. Last year I had the honor of marching in the parade as a candidate and celebrating alongside the LGBTQ+ community.

This year, as we protest in the streets for racial justice, I’m thinking about how Pride started as a protest with a Black trans woman, Marsha P. Johnson, as a prominent leader. As with almost everything else in our society, the issues facing LGBTQ people are worse for people of color, especially Black Americans.

When I’m in Congress, I will support the proposed Every Child Deserves a Family Act, which prohibits discrimination against adoptive and foster parents based on their sexual orientation, and LGBTQ+ youth seeking a safe and caring home.

We deserve a representative who will do more for LGBTQ rights. Donate to support this campaign today. [[link removed]]

I will fight against the current administration’s Transgender Military Ban and will work hard to bring forth legislation that protects LGBTQ+ members of the military.

I will continue to be an advocate for those fighting against HIV/AIDS.

Together we can bring this fight to Washington, but first, we have an election to win on June 23rd:

Thank you.

All my best,
Lindsey
