Dear friend,
It’s been a busy month as we published Invest in childhood, a report I authored which highlights the importance of expanding prevention measures for babies, children and young people, including health visiting, school nursing, employment and housing support. In it we call for a cross-government mental health strategy and a national programme of community-based initiatives in disadvantaged neighbourhoods.
We’ve also been highlighting our concerns about how the recent Supreme Court ruling will impact the mental health of trans people. In this blog, a guest writer shares a devastating account of what this means for her life. And I’ve written about how the ruling fits into a broader picture of hostility and hate which is harming LGBTQ+ people’s mental health, setting out the action needed to tackle these injustices.
