April 30 is National Apprenticeship Day

Apprenticeship is an earn-and-learn workforce training model that includes classroom instruction and on-the-job training. To celebrate National Apprenticeship Day -- April 30, 2025 -- we are featuring some of Minnesota's newest registered apprenticeship programs. Workplace laws for small-business owners:  Wage requirements, overtime rules and employee protections (webinar)

Apprenticeship grants available for workforce boards

Grant funding is available for statewide workforce boards to develop multi-employer registered apprenticeship programs or to serve as a regional apprenticeship hub. Learn more and apply.

MNOSHA fatality, serious-injury investigation summaries online

Each month, Minnesota OSHA (MNOSHA) Compliance publishes current, updated summaries of its fatality investigations and serious-injury investigations.

For the federal-fiscal-year that began Oct. 1, 2024, MNOSHA has investigated 10 fatalities through April 29.

The information provided about each investigation is:  the inspection number, date of incident and worksite city; the type of business and number of employees; a description of the event; and the outcome of the MNOSHA Compliance investigation.
