Today marks 100 days since Trump took office, so I am asking: Do you feel better off now than you did before he was president?

For most people, those who are not billionaires or personally related to Donald Trump, the answer is NO.

Trump has spent his first 100 days in office gutting government services that power our country, firing veterans, eliminating critical programs, cutting funding for food banks, starting trade wars, undermining Social Security, and so much more.

Not to mention allowing his Secretary of Defense to recklessly abuse national security information in a way that makes our troops and our country less safe. It has been one reckless and stupid news cycle after the other.

For my part, I have been doing everything I can to speak out and push back on Trump and his administration: demanding resources be restored to our community, fighting against the shut down of the Poughkeepsie Social Security office, and demanding a formal investigation into the use of Signal by government officials to discuss classified information.

But that work has put a target on this campaign. We know that in a seat like this, where Trump only lost the district by two points, national Republicans are going to throw everything they have at us – and we need to be ready.
