I was never supposed to be a frontrunner in this presidential race.

I was never supposed to make the cut for the debate stage.

People who grew up where I did -- who were raised by single moms like I was -- who come from a family of immigrants like I do -- we were told to set our sights lower.

But you just helped me make history and prove them all wrong.

Serving in President Obama's cabinet was one of the greatest honors of my life.

We fought for justice. We worked to improve lives. We strived to make this a country where people could live with dignity.

But watching Trump rip our progress to shreds has been the most infuriating spectacle I've ever witnessed.
