Interim update on the practical implications of the UK Supreme Court judgment

Wednesday 30 April 2025

Following the UK Supreme Court judgment in For Women Scotland v The Scottish Ministers, we are working to update our statutory and non-statutory guidance.

We know that many people have questions about the judgment and what it means for them. Our updated guidance will provide further clarity.

While this work is ongoing, we have published an update to highlight the main consequences of the judgment.

Employers and other duty-bearers must follow the law and should take appropriate specialist legal advice where necessary.
