Hi John,

May Day, also known as International Workers Day ([link removed]) , is upon us. This day commemorates the struggles and successes of workers everywhere, including protections, fair wages, and 35-40-hour work weeks. For our immigrant and undocumented communities, this means celebrating the great strides we’ve made to expand our rights and honoring our fight for a future where we can all thrive.

This month, we want to recognize the hard work our community’s unsung heroes have been doing, especially in response to the recent attacks on our dignity and safety. This includes every individual and organization on the line of defense, speaking out and taking action to protect immigrants in the U.S. We want to highlight our Home Is Here Opportunity Program Participants ([link removed]) , reaching out and sharing resources within their local communities; groups and coalitions challenging unfair and unjust policies such as IRS’ partnership with DHS ([link removed]) and the Registration Requirement ([link removed]) ; leaders, students and professionals alike, participating in crucial
and transformative conversations, and; individuals who are building leadership capacity within their networks.

No matter what your role in advocacy may look like—calling your representative, attending protests, building skills to help others, practicing agency within your job, or taking leadership roles—your commitment allows us to transform our communities for the better. As the fight continues, we are confident that as long as we are together, a thriving future is within our reach. Join a May Day action in your area this week. ([link removed])

In solidarity,
Our team at Immigrants Rising ([link removed])
