Wyoming hunting seasons are set
The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission has finalized all hunting seasons and license quotas for 2025-2026. Some species, hunt areas and season dates were significantly changed during the season setting process.
Many deadlines to apply for licenses, and to modify or withdraw applications, are approaching. Game and Fish encourages all hunters to review the updated regulations.

Shed antler season has arrived for some parts of the state

It’s spring, and *shed and horn hunting has kicked off for antler enthusiasts.* [ [link removed] ] But before venturing out, be sure to know which lands are open. Many sections of public lands, state lands and wildlife habitat management areas in western and southern Wyoming remain closed to shed antler and horn collection.
Game and Fish tests more than 5,000 samples for CWD in 2024
Mule deer in fall
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Wildlife Health Laboratory *tested 5,276 samples for chronic wasting disease in 2024,* [ [link removed] ] and 726 came back positive — 13.7% statewide — and saw CWD prevalence for mule deer increase throughout the state.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has *compiled key concerns and feedback received from the public regarding mule deer management* [ [link removed] ] in the state following a series of public meetings and an online comment period. Concerns from the public varied throughout regions. From predator management to CWD research and habitat loss, commenters provided their insight into mule deer management in the areas they live and hunt, and offered suggestions for solutions to key issues.
